The Goody Goody Wines story

Goody Goody Wines is a Melbourne-based social enterprise started by the owners of Victorian wine distributor Pail & Cooper. When they started Pail & Cooper in 2017, founders Chris Maddison and Owain Southwell both knew that down the track they wanted to use their business success to “give back” in some way.

After achieving stability and success with Pail & Cooper, Chris and Owain realised there was an opportunity to create their own wine brand and social enterprise in one. Goody Goody Wines is that venture. We’re a social enterprise with a dual purpose – to produce affordable, unpretentious fruit-forward wine for socially-conscious consumers, and to fund life-saving nutrition for children in Africa via our partner charity – Sanku Project Healthy Children.

Goody Goody by name,
goody goody by nature.

Not only do you get to drink a really ‘good’ wine, but you also get the warm fuzzies from doing your ‘good’ deed for the day!

All our wines have been crafted with this in mind, and we like to think they embody the values of our social enterprise and the spirit of our name. They deliver fruit-driven generosity to the drinker while lending financial support to the life-changing work of Sanku Project Healthy Children.

What success means to us

The measure of success for Goody Goody Wines is purely the number of children that we can fund life-saving nutrition for each year. Our goal for our first year of business was to reach 10,000 children, and we ended up reaching over 12,000. In our second year we’re hoping to reach 15,000, and our five-year goal is to reach a total of 100,000 children.

Malnutrition is the leading cause of intellectual disability in children, preventable blindness among adults and maternal death during childbirth. 8,000 children die every day from malnutrition and 200 Million children suffer from mental impairment in the first 5 years due to malnutrition.
This is all preventable through simple food fortification which is adding critical nutrients into the food that hundreds of millions of malnourished people eat the most (maize flour). By doing this, Sanku Project Healthy Children provided life-saving nutrition to 4.3 Million people last year.
